Deputy Care Home Manager

West View Care Home based in Bere Alston, is looking for an experienced Deputy Care Home Manager to join their team.

Job specification:

• Role: Deputy Care Home Manager
• £25,000 to £28,000 per annum, dependent on training & experience
• 35 hours a week on average, Monday to Friday, however weekend availability/flexibility is required to share on-call duties with home manager and team leaders
• 28 days of annual leave
• Training and career progression opportunities are available

The right candidate:

• Must have minimum 1 year's experience of management support within a similar care setting or equivalent
• minimum Diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care required (level 5 advantageous)
• demonstrate knowledge of relevant regulations and CQC fundamental standards
• Excellent communication skills – with the ability to communicate with multi-disciplinary teams as well as residents
• Able to reliably commute to Bere Alston

The Role:

• Assisting of the home manager to ensure the service meets all regulatory CQC guidelines & requirements and strive towards gaining an 'Outstanding' rating for the service
• Expected to manage the home on a day to day basis in the absence of the manager
• Liaising with both the management team and the Care Staff, as well as external agencies to ensure the safe and successful provision of support to all residents
• Assisting in the regular supervisions of staff to ensure all training and development needs are met
• Ensuring the protection and safeguarding of all residents, by implementation of care plans and regular reviews
• Providing an exemplary standard of care to the residents, always setting an example to the other care staff
• Strive for continuous improvement by keeping up to date with developments of health & social care practice, knowledge and training.
• Undertaking other duties relevant to the nature of the post and business requirements
