Project Accountant

Salary: £55,000-£75,000 DOE

Location: Remote

The project accountant is accountable for monitoring the financial progress of projects, looking into variances, approving outgoing inclusive of expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to clients and payments collected. We also recruit interim Project Accountants for projects undergoing surges in activity or ad hoc projects where there is fixed-term requirement.

Description of role and responsibilities:

• Looking after and maintaining project reports
• Maintaining all relevant income and expenditure for each project
• Analysing project expenses and providing commentary
• Looking after project records and contracts to ensure terms are adhered to
• Reviewing current processes for management accounts preparation and streamlining across business
• Liaising with auditors
• Ensuring robust financial reporting across business
• Business Partnering with non-finance managers in order to develop processes and the understanding of financial requirements
• Creating bespoke financial reports
• Developing financial systems along with IT support to make processes more user friendly

Project and accountancy Skills Required:

• CIMA, Degree or AAT Level 3/4
• Prince 2 Qualified / Studier
• Process mapping and implementation experience
• Strong systems manipulation skills
• Team management of up to 10 people
• Change management on a large scale
• Very strong technical skills in accounting
• Advanced Excel/systems skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks and communicate effectively to the wider team
• Attention to detail to effectively analyse general ledger accounts and financial statements
• Ability to manage transactions efficiently and accurately.

Salary: £55,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
