Graduate CAD Technical Engineer

Position Title: Graduate Software Support Engineer

Duration: Permanent

Location: Tamworth

• Our Client has an opening for a Software Support Engineer working with the consultancy team.
• The ideal candidate will have an interest in an Engineering / Computing / Product Design related discipline, with knowledge or experience in Engineering and/or CAD/CAM design or IT support.

You Have:

• A degree in an Engineering Computing related discipline, (e.g. Product Design, Engineering, Computing, etc.).
• An understanding of 3D geometry or CAD
• Strong communication skills.
• A positive attitude and enthusiasm to work.
• An ability to work under own initiative.
• An ability to prioritize and manage own workload.
• An ability to grasp new information quickly and apply it.
• A desire to develop a career within a rapidly changing business.
• This role may require the successful candidate to undertake travel in the UK and overseas, you must be comfortable with flying and a driving license would be a distinct advantage.

Your Role:

• Post-Sales Technical Support
• The CADverter brand has been the flagship of the Client for nearly 30 years.
• Its focus is on the direct translation of 3D CAD data, to or from an alternate mechanical CAD, or standards based format.
• For this role the main focus is the support of the Clients’ CADverter software, the candidate will:
• Interface with customers to successfully record and interpret product problem definitions.
• Interface with internal staff to progress problems through to resolution.
• Generate reports to enable customer problems to be escalated internally.
• Interface with customers to provide problem status updates and deliver resolutions.

Product Qualification Testing

• Our Client provides major updates of product software to their customers throughout the year.
• The role include support for the QA process, offering software-testing support for sprint deliveries and formal product releases.
• The role will include support testing across all primary product ranges: CADverter Products.
• Publish 3D Products.
• Extended Reality (XR) Products.

Consultancy Project Support

• The Software Support Engineer role will provide support to senior members of the Consultancy Team in the delivery of consultancy projects.
• Whilst previous experience is highly desirable, full on the job training will be provided to ensure that the QA Test Engineer fully understands the Client’s product suite and supporting applications.
• The company will also provide any additional training felt necessary for the successful candidate to succeed in this role.
