Support Worker Huntington, PE28

About the Service User:
T is aged 7 and lives with family in PE28 has ASD and ADHD, he’s non-verbal, very caring but his behaviour can be challenging at times.He is very active and loves jumping on his trampoline, playing at the park and he loves to bake. He does love to have some time out to chill and watch his favourite programmes and films.He sometimes needs encouragement when visiting new places.
Hours and Rate of Pay:
Rate of pay- £13phMinimum 10 hours per week Mon-Fri (term time - 3.30-5.50pm)Minimum 25 hour per week (during the school holidays)Flexible weekend work to be agreed and discussed in advance (ideally 5hours every other weekend)We can be flexible and discuss options if interested in becoming T’s carer Petrol and expenses incurred while taking T out into the community will be covered. The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
The Person I Would Like:
Someone who has experience in supporting young people with ASD/ADHD, either in a formal setting, in the community or from personal experiences.It is important that you have a good understanding and experience in ASD/ADHD and be able to de-escalate any situations that may arise. You should enjoy being active and have the skills to give T support with building his confidence & self-esteem & promoting independence.You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high-quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.You will be a car owner/driver – you must have a checkable driving license with business use insurance.
