Driving of Ambulift hi-lift vehicles airside at Birmingham International Airport
To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development
Main Duties
To ensure that each vehicle is checked before use, and defects documented as per internal process
To organise the most efficient and effective way of transporting several PRM's (plus one of their companions) to the various aircraft, ensuring on time departures
To correctly use a PDA ensuring compliance with time stamping
To co-ordinate the boarding / disembarkation of PRM's onto / off the aircraft from your vehicle or airbridge, liaising with the aircraft dispatcher and cabin crew to ensure smooth passage
Overall responsibility for the use of all aspects of the Ambilift vehicle including the tail lift and front platform and their controls
Driving of minibus and terminal buggies when required
Marshalling of vehicles
To report all Accidents / Near Misses
To keep the vehicles, clean and tidy of FOD

Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site
Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage
Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening
To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers
Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client
To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents
What we are looking for
Previous HGV or Hi-lift vehicle driving advantageous
Airport airside driving experience preferable but not essential
Clean DVLA Driving Licence
NVQ Level 2 / GCSE
5 year checkable work History
