HGV Class 2 Driver (Permanent Position)

Due to growth, we are currently looking for a suitable candidate to work out of our Manchester depot.

This is a position for a class 2 driver. You must have a clean driving licence and there will be a 5 year criminal record check carried out. Excellent customer service skills are required, as you will be in communicating with people of varying responsibility. The role is based on working Monday to Friday on a 45 hrs per week contract. You will be required to have good geographical knowledge of the north of England.

The job will consist of manual handling so you will need to be physically fit. As you will be the face of the company you will need to be highly presentable at all times. Operating a modern fleet of trucks, the company strives for the highest standards of safety and professionalism. You'll be expected to attend a CPC course one Saturday per year at the financial expense of the company.

You will also be required to carry out overtime when the company requests which is paid at 1 and 1/4. Alongside breaks which will be paid.

Experience in this field is not essential but is advantageous.

General Duties

• Collecting of material and deliveries around the North of England..
• Manual handling, lifting and carrying during loading .
• Represent the company in a positive way, wearing clean uniform provided and communicating with customers politely.
• Adhere to EU Drivers Hours rules through correct operation of tachographs, with regards to driving, rest and other work.
• Operate safely whilst on sites at all times following H&S rules.
