Youth Education Volunteer (Aberdeen)

Community Education delivers free confidence-building workshops to young people, and we want you to help us in our mission to empower communities to become more resilient. We ask that you: - Are available to help us for a minimum of 8 hours per month. - Can commit to helping us for a minimum of 9 months. Please note as part of this role you will be expected to travel up to one hour to venues to deliver workshops. Workshops can take place at various times, usually between 9am and 5pm during the week. You will be required to carry learning materials or light-weight training equipment. You will need to have use of your own vehicle, phone and laptop/computer. If you have previous experience that’s great, but we will give full training and support if you are passionate about this and want to get involved. We ask that you can commit to this role and to working through the role induction. 70% of the learning will be done practically, along with some online learning modules, with a view to be independently delivering one of our workshops within 3 months of joining Community Education. We will provide you with all training resources, and we will support you by providing opportunities for observations, feedback, and training. We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety, and we will also have a conversation with you to discuss any adjustments you may need. You will empower young people in your community by delivering workshops on a range of humanitarian topics including First Aid and Wellbeing. • Tasks: Deliver a range of interactive workshops to young people in schools and youth settings.
  
  Promote our Community Education workshops within your community.

• Skills: Confidence to independently deliver workshops to a group of young people.
  
  Ability to communicate effectively with our partner organisations and young people.
  
  Responsible, organised, reliable and able to work independently.
  
  Passionate about exploring humanitarian issues and values.
  
  Able to travel to and lead a workshop each week, usually between 9am and 5pm, with the opportunity for occasional evenings or weekends. Workshops take place at different times so flexibility is desired.
